Housing contracts are signed for a full academic year (Fall and Winter semesters). Mid-year (Winter semester) contracts will be available if space permits.
If the resident will no longer be an enrolled student, the resident must apply for a contract release with the Residence Life office. Releases are granted for only the following reasons: Withdrawal from MU, transfer to another school, graduation/program completion.
The contract will not be terminated for an enrolled resident to move off campus or commute from home during the period of the contract. If a resident chooses to move out of the residence hall without obtaining a contract release from the Residence Life office, the resident continues to be financially responsible for all room and board charges for the remainder of the academic year.
To see room layouts, please visit our Housing Options page. Each hall has floor plans included in the description.
The Office of Residence Life will notify you that you can view your assignment and roommate information in the housing portal via email to your MU email account. The room assignments are completed on or before July 15th each year.

You will be asked a series of questions on your Housing Application. Examples include your preferences for noise, visitors, sleeping habits, and study habits. The information you provided is then used to match you with a roommate.
Yes. In the application you receive from the Office of Residence Life, it will contain information on how to request a roommate. You will need to request the student by listing their first and last name. In order for roommates to be matched together, both parties must request one another.
First, talk with your roommate about what is bothering you. Most of the time, problems can be worked out simply by communicating directly with them. If that doesn't work, speak with your RA or Professional staff. They are there to help you and your roommate resolve the issue. It is important to be direct and honest with your roommate.
A TV connection is provided in each bedroom and each living room. Currently we offer over 50 different channels. If you need help with your cable, please contact the IT help desk.
